International Rescue Committee-University of Nairobi Partnership for Education in Emergencies
Funded by Unbound Philanthropy (lead donor), an anonymous donor and the Humanitarian Aid Department of the European Commission

From 2009-2013, I served as the Project Director for the partnership between the International Rescue Committee and the University of Nairobi through which we launched the first-ever graduate program for Education in Emergencies. My role entailed developing graduate-level curricula, designing a robust and multi-year faculty development program, and connecting students and faculty with external opportunities for internships and research.

From August 2013 to May 2014, I served as the Research Manager of a collaborative research project between the IRC, University of Nairobi and UNHCR. I designed, led and participated as a researcher on a team of faculty from the University of Nairobi, Harvard and Teachers College that examined educational opportunities and challenges for refugees in Kenya, both in Nairobi and Kakuma refugee camp. The collaboration continues as we work to publish our research findings from the initial study.
